OUR PROGRAMS

 

The ACES program is committed to assisting students in multiple areas of developement including academic, financial literacy, college preparation, career explorations, and intrapersonal & interpersonal communication skills.

 

In addition to workshops, students are able to meet with their coach regarding any issues they might be facing.

WORKSHOPS

Communication

This interactive workshop encourges students to explore how to navigate the barriers their differences and similarities create in communicating with peers, staff, family, and the world at large.

Interview Skills

This workshop prepares students for the workplace interview process by discussing interview strategies, possible interview questions, and setting up mock interview.

​

Resume Writing

This workshop assist students in creating their academic, activity, and professional resume to assist them with college and job applications.

​

Financial Literacy

This workshop teaches students the reality of earning, saving, spending, and borrowing money. Students will be introduced to a set salary and learn to budget and spend accordingly.

 

This workshop will also introduce them to credit cards and check writing.

 

Time Management and Study Skills

This workshop prepares students to balance

the rigors of life. The workshop will go over managing employment, class scheduling, and school activities. 

 

Test Prep

This workshop prepares students for the required college entrance standardized tests, including SAT, ACT, ACCUPLACER, and ASVAB.

 

Financial Aid/Scholarship

This workshop prepares students to fill out financial aid forms such as FAFSA and their college specific forms as well as learn important terminology pertaining to financial aid. Students will also be informed of available scholarships, recieve help in filling them out, and will discuss with their coach how to set themselves apart from the competition.

 

Social Media Awarenes

This workshop encourages students to discuss the appropriate uses of social media including how to use it for their personal, educational, and professional benefits.

 

Career Exploration

This workshop will help students discover how their interests, talents, and goals can assist them in selecting or creating a career.

 

College Exploration

This workshop helps students understand what they should look for in a college, narrow their college selection, and apply to those colleges.

 

Proper Attire

This workshop engages students in a conversation about the proper attire in different environments.
